Waffle Meat Sandwich

Waffle Meat Sandwich

Recipe by AlexPrep: 5 minCook: 5 minTotal: 10 minServes 1Easy

This sandwich flips the usual order: seasoned raw ground beef goes between two slices of toast bread, and the whole thing cooks in a waffle maker for about 5 minutes. The method works because the hot plates press the beef into a thin, even layer that heats from both sides at once, so it cooks through while the bread crisps. Spread the meat all the way to the edges so there are no thick spots. Cheese melts into the beef, and a few pickled jalapeño slices cut the richness; skip them for a milder bite. It is done when the bread is deep golden and the center is steaming hot.

Instructions

  1. 1

Take a slice of toast bread and spread raw ground beef on top, spreading it evenly with a spoon. Season with salt and your favorite herb blend.

  2. 2

Add a couple of slices of cheese on top. For added heat, include a few slices of pickled jalapeño. Top with another slice of toast bread.

  3. 3

Cook in the waffle maker for about 5 minutes. The ground beef cooks through completely inside the sandwich.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the raw beef really cook through?

Yes — pressed thin between the hot waffle plates, the beef cooks fully in about 5 minutes. Spread it in a thin, even layer and check it is piping hot before serving.

What beef should I use?

Standard ground beef around 80–85% lean works — a little fat keeps it juicy. Season it well, since it is the star of the sandwich.

Can I add other fillings?

Onions, mushrooms or different cheeses all work; keep them thin so the sandwich seals and cooks evenly in the waffle maker.
